International Day Against Homophobia - Film and panel at St. Paul's Cathedral May 14 7:30 pm

    Friends,

Please join me in observing the International Day Against Homophobia by viewing a new film about bullying - Teach Your Children Well. The film is narrated by Lily Tomlin.

Meet two of the makers of the film, Robin Voss and Gary Takesian. After the viewing, they will join a panel to discuss the film. You may remember Voss's first documentary, For The Bible Tells Me So which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. (If you haven't seen it, you can view free it at http://www.forthebibletellsmeso.org/indexc.htm).

At this event, the president of St. Paul's Foundation for International Reconciliation, Rev. Canon Albert Ogle, will be showing a preview of another new film, Call Me Kuchu, about global homophobia and the life of David Kato the Ugandan gay rights leader who was murdered in 2011. Rev. Ogle is working to bring representatives from the 76 countries where it is illegal to be LGBT to the World AIDS Conference in Washington, DC, in July where they will discuss ways of involving faith communities in helping to change attitudes and laws in their countries.

Attached is a flyer about this important event. I hope you can make it.
