The 2011 Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast will be held Friday, May 20, 7:30 am at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. Tables are available starting at only $500 for 10 seats, and sponsorships are available at levels from $600 to $20,000. Library notes The economy has dominated the news for many months now, and the late John Maynard Keynes, a renowned gay British economist, had much to say about a capitalist economy that tanked badly. To find out more about him, read the fascinating biography John Maynard Keynes, available in the biography (BIO) section of The Center's library. Located in the Community Resource Room, The Center's library contains nearly 7,000 LGBT-related books. With identification, borrowers may check out up to four items at once for a period of one month. Twenty-Somethings Discussion Groups for Men (Feb. 22) and Women (March 15) These brand NEW groups at The Center have been created to better connect LGBT 20-somethings to The Center and the community. Aimed at participants age 18-28, the groups will address issues pertinent to young adults – such as relationships, sexual health, activism, community building and more. The women's group will meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 pm; men's group will meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. Dr. Eichenberg is a board certified plastic surgeon who has been working with the Trans community for the last few years. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. The former executive director of San Diego's Human Relations Commission, Ashley is credited with institutionalizing comprehensive and compassionate domestic violence services in the county, leading to it becoming a model for other cities across the nation.
